Margaret Hayward Park

Located in the heart of San Francisco, Margaret Hayward Playground stands as a cherished haven of joy and recreation for families and visitors alike. Named after the prominent San Franciscan activist, Margaret Hayward, who pioneered the establishment of public playgrounds in San Francisco and served as a charter member of the city’s playground commission, this playground pays homage to her dedication to enhancing the city's communities.
The play equipment features a series of rope tunnels appropriate for little climbers everywhere. At the east and west ends of the park are basketball courts, a new multi-use sports field to accommodate pick-up games, and two expanded baseball/softball fields. It's also connected to the YMCA Margaret Hayward Rec Center.
