An initiative that has inspired my family this year is the 1000 Hours Outside movement. Originally started by Ginny Yurich, this movement is a global call to reconnect with nature and prioritize time outdoors. My family has pledged to embrace this challenge: we aim to spend 1000 hours connecting with each other outside in 2024.

We're not just participating; we're inviting you to join us! To make tracking our outdoor hours fun and easy, I've created a unique tracker, styled after the charming San Francisco park sign. It's a great way to visualize your progress. And if you're interested, you can grab it for free!

Common Questions

How did you decide which parks to include?

I started with the "must-see" San Francisco parks that any San Francisco parent that's lived here for many years would recommend. I then filled in the rest of the passport with great parks that are a little more unknown in every part of the city to lead to full fledged exploration.

Why isn't my favorite park included?

San Francisco has over 220 parks and 170 playgrounds. With the passport limited to 32 pages, there's simply not enough space to include every park. But just like a U.S. passport, you can add extension pages so you can track your visits to ALL SF parks. Check out these printable passport additional pages to get printable passport extension pages
