Alice Chalmers Playground

Alice Chalmers Playground is a small, recently renovated playground in the Outer Mission of San Francisco. While the floor-print of the playground is a mere eighth of a city block, the park more than makes up for it vertically with a 3 story tall epic Lappset Tower (the first of its kind in North America!) This playground is a great one to visit with your older kids though there is a smaller slide appropriate for smaller kiddos as well as a sandbox.
Alice Chalmers playground was named for a principle of the neighboring Longfellow Elementary School. The park was widely known as one of the worst maintained in the city until the renovation as part of Let’sPlaySF! Initiative in 2019 which completely turned the playground around to one of the most impressive.
NOTE: The park hours are a little different than the norm since the space also serves as a daycare. You can visit the park after 5:30 pm M-F and all day on weekends
