Golden Gate Heights Park

This week's recommendation is a park with a view. Centered around Larsen Peak, the park offers 7 acres of trails. There's a fantastic view from the top when it's not foggy letting viewers see all the way out past the Sunset to the  Farallon Islands.
The playground was recently renovated as part of the city's Let'sPlaySF! Initiative. Playground equipment by Berliner sports the designer's distinct rope structure. There's a great little slide that has both stairs and a hilly approach.
The park is part of the Green Hairstreak Butterfly Corridor, essential to the survival of a species endemic to the Inner Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco. The corridor is planted full of plants allowing previously isolated communities to connect.
The park can end up foggy so bring a jacket!
