Hilltop Park
Hilltop Park, situated at the heart of the bustling Bayview neighborhood, has long been a vibrant community park, towering 78 feet above the city with its iconic sundial, and the first of its kind skatepark. However, in recent years, this 3.5 acre space has fallen into disrepair. To bring the park back to life, the Bayview community, Rec and Park and the Trust for Public Land partnered to revitalize the park, giving it a modern makeover.
The park now features a colorful celestial theme on its playground equipment, a 'Dish' funded in part by the Tony Hawk Foundation, telescopes for viewing the cityscape, an adult exercise area, increased picnic and barbecue facilities, and sustainable features such as native plantings, natural irrigation and stormwater retention.
