Carl Larsen Playground
Carl Larsen Park, nestled within San Francisco's Sunset District, holds a cherished place in the hearts of local residents. Named after the esteemed Danish immigrant and prosperous entrepreneur, Carl Larsen, this park has stood as a testament to his generosity since 1926. Larsen donated two blocks of land to the city, shaping Larsen Park into the beloved community space it is today.
The site contained decommissioned military jets in the 50s-80s that neighborhood kids would come and play on. As a nostalgic nod to the park's origins Carl Larsen Park now contains a new jet - a climbable sculpture with a rope jet trail. The airplane theme extends across the entire park from baggage claim slides to rocket ship mosaic. A definite do not miss for the plane fanatics in your life.
